ABOUT MARIE

Born and raised in California's central coast, an area known for its rolling hills and laid back style, Marie has always been inspired by the colors, textures, sights and smells of nature. She considers her artistic ability a blessing that allows her to speak through art when words fail. By leaning into bold colors, textures and crystals, her paintings capture the essence of who Marie is.

Marie earned her degree in fashion illustration at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. After graduating, she spent some time designing fashion jewelry and her work was featured in Cosmopolitan magazine. Marie then entered the apparel industry and spent many years working in Downtown Los Angeles. However, her passion for artistic expression eventually drew her away from the industry and set her on a new path where she was able to apprentice with a diverse array of mentors, international muralists, and fine art professionals, including Hollywood scenic artists. Marie's experiences have honed her skills and taken her on adventures to Mexico City and Africa, demonstrating that her mural work continues to stand as a testament to her talent and vision. Today, Marie channels her creative energy into her art, family, and teaching at her studio in Whittier, CA. She is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of artists.

Believing deeply in the "Spirit of Art," Marie is committed to giving back. She has collaborated with numerous organizations, including the Whittier Cultural Art Foundation, The American Cancer Society, A Quarter Blue, My Refuge House, and Y-Malawi, using her art to make a positive impact on the community and beyond.
